A FARM ON A MISSION
Kahumana Organic Farms is a 31 acre certified organic farm operating in the heart of Lualualei Valley on O'ahu's beautiful west side since 1978.
Our goal is to grow as much food as possible, in the most sustainable way possible.
We are production-oriented, but at our core we are a regenerative farm utilizing permaculture principles.

OUR CREW
Our crew is a group of young farmers passionate about agriculture, sustainability, and food sovereignty. The team is made up of folks from all over the world who join us to gain hands-on farming experience, learn about waste reduction methods, and see first hand what it takes to operate a production farm.
A work trade with us will allow you to participate in all aspects of farm operations- from harvesting and weeding in the fields, to washing and bagging produce, creating “value added” products in our VA department, assisting in our farm to table cafe, attending farmers markets, and more. We strive to provide a well rounded experience and ask that you be open to helping and learning in all departments!
In exchange for your work, we will provide you with a private room in our farmhouse as well as three meals per day, seven days per week. Basic amenities such as electric, hot water, wifi, coin operated washers, and a bus stop right outside the gate also included. Our community is robust and includes short term work traders, long term employees, families, community founders and more- so please say hi and let’s get to know one another! We host events and community gatherings regularly and would be thrilled for you to join.
Work Exchange: 35 hours per week. Two month minimum commitment. After your initial two months, if you are interested in a longer term stay with us we would be happy to discuss arrangements.
If you are interested in work trade opportunities at Kahumana Organic Farms, please reach out to us at zgalvin@asi-hawaii.org . In your email, tell us a little about yourself, your desired start and end dates, a good phone number to reach you at (and your time zone!) and include a resume.
We look forward to hearing from you!
