Help Grow kahumana Farms
Help Kahumana Organic Farms build new fields and orchards.
Over the last 2 years, Kahumana Organic Farms has been hard at work replacing invasive haole koa and kiawe forests with abundant vegetable fields and orchards - doubling production to 40 tons of fruits and vegetables annually for families, restaurants and grocery stores here in Hawaii.
Behind the beautiful fields of salad, carrots, beets, radishes, herbs and kalo are another 6 acres waiting to be transformed from invasive brush into local, organic food. But we can't do it without the support of our community.
The margins on farming are incredibly thin - too thin to finance the equipment and labor necessary to allow us to grow more food on more acres. The bottom line is efficiency: we need to adopt technology that will free our farm crew from the slow and back-breaking tasks that are currently done by hand.
With your support, we will be able to remove invasive trees, install thousands of feet of irrigation and finance equipment to save the time and bodies of our hard working farmers.
This is one step in the right direction towards fulfilling Governor Ige's goal to double local food production by 2030. Our hearts and our bellies thank you for your participation in creating a sustainable food system that benefits our local health, economy and environment.
Please donate and share to support the future of farms in Hawaii.
