FREE DINNER & TALK STORY -

Food Safety Dinner and Info Sessions: Wed, July 26th, 5-8pm at Kahumana Organic Farm in Waianae.

Brief overview of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) rules, followed by Q&A. We will be joined by Fred Reppun, formerly of CTAHR Cooperative Extension. Fred has conducted a series of interviews with local retailers and food distributers to hear from them what food safety certifications they will likely require of local farmers in the near future, and heʻll be available to share some of that information with us as well.

Weʻll be serving an 'āina-to-table meal and hope you can join us. If you can't make it to the July event, there is another one on August 11th, hosted at Mohala Farm in Waialua.

Our planet is currently loosing over 15 billion trees each year - that's 56 acres per minute.

We are working hard to reverse that trend by supporting local reforestation projects here at Kahumana Organic Farms.

We would like to ask you to consider giving the ultimate gift of hope this spring, by donating to our farm. The best way to ensure a sustainable future is to participate in its revival.

Kahumana Organic Farms is GROWING! With the expansion of 16 glorious acres at our Kuwale Property, we are asking for any and all love to see to it, that we reach our goal of supplying the Island of O'ahu with locally sourced, responsibly grown food!

Your contribution will provide you a fruit tree of your choice that will be planted at our Kuwale Farm Orchard. We hope to plant about 6 acres of fruit trees in the coming months.

Once you have chosen your level of donation, you may also choose a dedication for the tree. Once we have planted the orchard, we will engrave the dedication on a placard and place it in our Orchard.

If you're searching for service-learning & volunteer opportunities, look no further! We are hoping to share our land & knowledge here on the Leeward Coast by extending an open-armed invitation to anyone who might be interested in helping out & becoming a farmer for the day! Volunteering with the Kahumana Organic Farm crew is a wonderful way to gain an insight & support the work that we do in our community, while experiencing the magic that it takes to grow your own food. We welcome all levels of growing experience. The only requirements are an observant mind, a curious spirit, a love of dirty hands, & a willingness to work hard in rain or shine.Keiki ARE welcome - but with that - we do ask that you take into consideration that we are working on the farm, around tools & in varying weather conditions. We want everyone to be safe while experiencing the joys of Malama 'Āina!WHAT TO BRING:We encourage volunteers to bring comfortable work clothing. Please wear closed-toe shoes or boots that you are willing to get dirty & possibly wet—no sandals, slippers or similar footwear allowed. Hats are suggested. A water bottle & sunblock are essential. The Farm has tools & gloves available for volunteer use. Refreshments provided!*We will be offering a Volunteer Discount rate on a farm-fresh meal in our Cafe after our work, for a full circle experience!The amount of support we've received for previous Volunteer Days has been humbling.
